Letter, handwritten. Letterhead in black ink, with a phoenix motif and the legend "Not for Ourselves Entirely". Letter is undated, but has typewritten 188_, and refers to the tenth of March as a Tuesday, which only occurred in 1885. So the letter must have been written before 10 March 1885.
