Description

Letter from the Deputy Postmaster-General to the Town Clerk bringing attention to the fruit hawkers in front of the Post Office on Elizabeth Street, who in his view are obstructing access to the Office, and the cause of the fruit peel and detritus strewn about in the colonnade. The Deputy Postmaster-General asks for action to be taken on this issue.

Letter, typewritten in blue ink, slightly smudged. The letterhead features a central crest in black ink with lion and unicorn, above the words "Commonwealth of Australia. Victoria." in capitals. To the right is written "Postmaster-General's Department, General Post Office, Melbourne".
