Melbourne Food and Wine Festival

Held over a three-week period in March, this annual festival showcases Victoria's quality produce and cuisine, reinforcing Melbourne's reputation as Australia's pre-eminent culinary city and restaurant capital. Introduced in 1993 the festival now encompasses more than 100 events in a program that includes master classes, demonstrations, workshops, tutored tastings and tours of markets and wineries. Attracting over 250 000 lovers of food and wine each year, the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival is the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere.
