Reichstein Foundation

This philanthropic foundation was established in 1970 by Melbourne manufacturer Lance Reichstein. On his death, ten years later, it became the major beneficiary of his will. It espouses a socially progressive form of philanthropy, funding research and innovative services that focus on empowerment rather than dependency. The foundation's stated aim is to effect social change in order to counter those structures that alienate people and threaten the survival of the planet.
