Located north-east of the Tullamarine Freeway and west of Broadmeadows, Westmeadows is a mainly residential suburb on the site of the original Broadmeadows township laid out in 1850. The Housing Commission of Victoria constructed the Westmeadows Heights estate in the 1970s.
