Wyndham City

This outer western municipality was created in 1994 to replace the former Shire of Werribee (less Balliang East, Exford and Laverton). Wyndham was the original name for the shire, having been used from 1864-1909. Werribee's first publican had fought alongside a fellow officer named Wyndham at the Battle of Waterloo.
