Located between Elizabeth and Swanston streets and extending south from Little Bourke Street, Staughton Place is situated between two of Melbourne's largest department stores, Myer and David Jones. It was named prior to 1895 after pastoralist and parliamentarian Samuel T. Staughton, whose family owned the nearby Royal Arcade for over a century.
