Description

Shows the Dallmeyer Photoheliograph being operated by W. C. Kernot (later the first professor of engineering at the University of Melbourne), the assistants are his students. During the 1874 transit of Venus. The Photoheliograph was restored and reinstalled in the dome in time for the 2004 transit of Venus. Currently (i.e. 2006) on indefinite loan to the Astronomical Society of Victoria Inc.
