Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute

The Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI) is a collaborative national research organisation headquartered in Central Melbourne. Formally launched in July 1993, its applied research focuses on housing and urban development processes in Australia, and aims to understand better the forces at work in this field, to inform public policy debate and evaluate outcomes. The management company AHURI Ltd co-ordinates seven participating research centres across Australia, with funding from Commonwealth, State and Territory government grants, participating university research centres, and commercial research.
