Federici

Melbourne's most famous ghost, Federici's real name was Frederick Baker, the Italian-born son of an English diplomat. On 3 March 1888, baritone Federici collapsed from a heart attack while playing Mephistopheles in a production of Faust at the Princess Theatre. There have been numerous claimed sightings of him in the dress circle, and legend has it that his appearance is a good omen for a production. He is buried in the Melbourne General Cemetery, and the bar in the Princess Theatre is named after him.
