Millgrove

(3799, 61 km E, Yarra Ranges Shire)

Millgrove is a rural township located on the Warburton Highway, west of Warburton, which developed in response to the great demand for timber created by Melbourne's rapid development from the 1850s. Logs taken from Mount Donna Buang were processed in Millgrove. From 1901 many were taken to Melbourne by railway but after this line closed in 1965 the industry declined. Quiet and beautiful and with fine amenities, it is a popular retreat for Melburnians.
