Oaklands Junction

(3063, 24 km N, Hume City)

This agricultural and horse-breeding district lies north-west of Greenvale and the Moonee Ponds Creek, and just north of Melbourne Airport. It is best known for the Oaklands Hunt Club (1888), which is still based here. The rural area had a population in 2001 of a little over 200, and features the Oaklands Junction Quarry, the William Inglis (Horseracing) Sales Complex, and the developing residential estate of Oaklands Park.
