Uniting Church

The third largest religious community in Melbourne, the Uniting Church was formed in 1977 from Congregational, Methodist and Presbyterian churches. Its buildings are an important part of Melbourne's heritage. Members and ministers continue to provide important leadership through pastoral care, education and community service. Next to the Victorian government, the Uniting Church is the major provider of social services (such as Wesley Central Mission) as well as of influential educational institutions (including Methodist Ladies' College and Wesley College).
