Victorian Women's Trust

This philanthropic foundation began during Victoria's sesquicentenary celebrations in 1985 when the State government made a $1 million grant in recognition of women's contribution to the State's social and community life. With the motto 'making a difference', the trust has recruited over 500 regular donors and distributes grants to advocacy groups and organisations engaged in progressive philanthropic projects addressing women's needs. It seeks also to increase opportunities for women to participate in decision-making, and to foreground the contribution they make both inside and outside the paid workforce.
