Yellingbo

(3139, 48 km E, Yarra Ranges Shire)

A rural district south of Woori Yallock and Seville East, Yellingbo was originally known as Claxton and Parslows Bridge before taking the name by the 1940s of the district's reputedly last-known Aboriginal inhabitant. Yellingbo township is located around the junction of Parslows Road and the Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road. The Yellingbo Nature Conservation Reserve is the last remaining habitat of the Helmeted Honeyeater Lichenostomus melanops subsp. cassidix, Victoria's official State bird emblem.
