Australia Arcade, or Australia on Collins, is an indoor arcade connecting Collins and Little Collins streets between Swanston and Elizabeth streets. It was probably named for the Hotel Australia, which had existed on the site prior to World War II. The arcade allows indoor pedestrian access from Collins Street to The Causeway on the other side of Little Collins Street, which in turn connects to David Jones, Myer and Melbourne Central. As such, it is possible to walk almost the entire width of the city through indoor arcades. Australia Arcade contains a food court and several floors of shops, and also provides access to the Novotel Hotel.
