Buckley Place

Buckley Place leads south from Little Bourke Street between Swanston and Elizabeth streets. Its name derives from the famous Buckley & Nunn department stores which had premises in Buckley Place and the surrounding area from 1851. The Buckley & Nunn chain was acquired by David Jones Ltd in 1982, and Buckley Place now borders that department store in Bourke Street.
