Little Leichardt Street is a dead-end from Little Lonsdale Street between Exhibition and Spring streets. In 1892, Little Leichardt Street was home to bottle manufacturer Samuel McIlwaine. Weston Bate draws on the impressions of the changing nature of the laneways as the city boomed during the 1930s: 'Battered bricks and blocked up windows at the junction of Eagle Alley and Little Leichardt Street tell of the transition from a domestic to an industrial scene.' By 1950, there were several hardware merchants, confectioners and an electrician in the street.
