Mitre Lane

Mitre Lane sprouts off Bank Place, which is located in the block between William, Queen, Collins and Little Collins streets. In September 1894, C.R. James, a resident of Collins Street, complained to the Melbourne City Council about the lack of lighting in the laneway. James notes that the gas lamp which had been located in the right-of-way for a few months had been removed.
