Sherwood Place

Located between Exhibition and Spring streets and extending north from Little Lonsdale Street, Sherwood Place was situated in the heart of the notorious 'Little Lon' district in the north-east corner of the city grid. The lane was largely residential from the second half of the nineteenth century through to the mid twentieth century, with occupants of working class and often migrant background. Sherwood Place was demolished in the 1970s to make room for the Telstra Exhibition Exchange (288-326 Exhibition Street).
