Somerset Place

Located between Queen and Elizabeth streets, Somerset Place extends south from Little Bourke Street. It was named in the late nineteenth century and in 1900 was occupied by several bicycle-related businesses. Hatsell King, a cricket bat manufacturer, also occupied Somerset Place during this time. In recent years, residential apartments have emerged in this lane, which still provides rear access for many of the businesses along Elizabeth Street.
