Letter replying to the Town Clerk's request that the Queen (on her visit to Australia) autograph a painting of herself; unfortunately, the Queen has a stated policy of never signing portraits, but will send a photograph of herself and her husband to commemmorate her trip to Melbourne.

Letter, typewritten in black ink, with handwritten salutation in black ink. Letterhead: central, very ornate version of the seal of Victoria supported by lion and unicorn in red ink; to the right of this "Government House, Melbourne" is typewritten in black.
